Anil Joshi is Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Unicorn India Ventures. He has been one of the pioneers of angel investments in India, having served as Head of Operations and President at Mumbai Angels and Bangalore Angels — leading angel investment forums in India. As an early mover in the early 2000s, Anil was investing in budding companies even before venture investment had taken any formal shape in India.
He brings extensive experience in business development, corporate management, and project management across organisations of all sizes. Anil has facilitated over 100 venture-financing deals and directly closed more than 50. He has served on six company boards and mentors at incubation centres in India and internationally. He is respected in startup circles for strategic guidance and advises governmental and industrial bodies on innovation policy.
Prior to Unicorn India Ventures, Anil led new projects and investments at Artheon Group (Telecom, IT & Energy), headed a branch office at Century Rayon (a leading Indian textile conglomerate), provided consulting services to Scandinavian companies at Business Access India Pvt. Ltd., and worked at Transasia Biomedical Ltd., India's largest manufacturer and exporter of biomedical equipment.
Anil holds a degree in Engineering, a Post-Graduate degree in Management (Marketing), and a PGDBM in Strategic Finance and Control. He currently serves on IVCA's VC Council (2022–2024), focusing on government engagement and innovation-promoting policies.
