Kishore Kanakamedala is a Venture Partner at Unicorn India Ventures (UIV), based in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he leads the firm’s strategic initiatives in the United States. He helped IIT Madras and UIV launch the IITM Unicorn Frontier Fund and sits on its Investment Committee.

Trained in both chemical engineering and computer science, Kishore has spent three decades building products and businesses across software and hardware, 27 of those years in the Bay Area. Nearly two decades of that were at McKinsey, Google and Meta. At Google, he grew Offline and Local Ads from under $1 billion to more than $4 billion in annual run-rate revenue. He later led a 50+ person product organisation as Senior Director of Product Management for Ads Analytics, Insights and Measurement. He has also served as Business Lead for Revenue and Reporting Products at Stripe and as Senior Director of Product Management at Meta. On the startup side, he was VP and COO of Neeva, the Sequoia-backed search company that raised around $100 million before it was acquired by Snowflake. He began his career as an engineer at Aspen Technology, applying optimisation and early AI systems to industrial production.

Kishore’ believes this is an exceptionally good time to invest in India, especially in deeptech and product-led startups.

At UIV he wants to build India–US bridges across cross-border investment, go-to-market and talent, and help Indian deeptech produce its next generation of unicorns.
